Welcome to Keswick Football Club
We have no definitive date for when the club was formed but there are old photos of Keswick football teams as far back as 1895. Walker Park where the two senior teams currently play was built by the townsfolk of Keswick in 1923. The inaugural match to officially open the ground was a match between a Cumberland select team and Manchester Utd. Over 3000 spectators saw Utd win 4-2. There was a wooden grandstand then but not now.
The pitch is now well past its best after over 80 years of football and lake district weather taking its toll. This coupled with the pitch being used as a touring caravan site during the summer has left the playing surface resembling an undulating field. Work is to start on a brand new full size pitch with a clubhouse incorporating four changing rooms. This will see the senior and junior sides located on one site for the first time ever.
